Position Overview
The Director of Circuit Operations will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of Longhorn International Raceway. This position oversees track maintenance, event execution, facility readiness, staffing, safety compliance, and coordination with sanctioning bodies, racing organizations, OEM partners, and internal departments.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive motorsports facility experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of circuit operations, safety standards, and event management.
Key Responsibilities
Circuit Operations
Manage all daily operations of the road racing circuit.
Ensure track surfaces, runoff areas, barriers, fencing, curbing, and safety systems are maintained to the highest standards.
Coordinate circuit inspections and compliance with FIA, ACCUS, SCCA, NASA, IMSA, and other sanctioning body requirements.
Develop and enforce operating procedures for all circuit activities.
Event Management
Oversee execution of professional races, track rentals, manufacturer testing, club events, driving schools, and private experiences.
Coordinate event schedules with race control, hospitality, security, maintenance, EMS, and fire personnel.
Ensure operational readiness before, during, and after all events.
Staff Leadership
Recruit, train, and supervise track operations personnel.
Manage race control staff, corner workers, maintenance crews, and support teams.
Develop staffing schedules and operational workflows.
Promote a culture of professionalism, safety, and customer service.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Coordinate with Fire/EMS teams and safety personnel.
Develop emergency response procedures and incident management plans.
Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
Facility Management
Oversee maintenance schedules for track infrastructure and support facilities.
Manage vendor relationships and contractor activities.
Assist in budgeting, capital improvement planning, and equipment procurement.
Strategic Development
Support future expansion projects and facility enhancements.
Collaborate with executive leadership on operational planning and growth initiatives.
Assist in preparing the facility for major national and international racing events.
